Welcome to Game Development for Beginners, one of the five courses which make up 100 Tjejer Kodar Barcelona 2017.

While in Barcelona we’re going to build an awesome 2D-game that is reminiscent of classic arcade action titles. Once we have the core systems up and running there will be plenty of ways that you can shape the project to make it your own. During the week you will get to learn several different programming techniques and the basics of game development using JavaScript and the Phaser library.

This website will contain tutorials and information that will be released and updated while we’re in Barcelona. Before we head off though, please put aside 30-45 minutes to go through the the following pages so we can get started as quickly as possible when the course starts.

  • Required Software: This page lists certain software that you will need to have installed on your laptop before we can get started.

  • Background Knowledge: It is recommended that people have a little knowledge of some programming fundamentals before taking this course.
